Temperature drops slightly in Capital, IMD predicts light rain on Sunday

The national Capital saw a slight decrease in the maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday.
A yellow alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Sunday, warning of light rain, along with hot and humid conditions.
Safdarjung, representative of the city’s weather, recorded a maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, three degrees above the normal and a 0.6 degree decrease from the day before. The minimum temperature was logged at 30.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees above the normal and a 0.8 degree drop from the day before.
Palam recorded a maximum of 37.4 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees lower than Friday and a minimum temperature of 28.8 degrees Celsius, a decrease of 0.3 degrees from the day before.
Lodhi Road recorded a minimum of 29.2 degrees Celsius, 0.9 degrees less than Friday’s minimum; Ayanagar recorded a minimum of 29.4 degrees. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Sunday.
“There is a possibility of very light to light rain at isolated places accompanied by strong surface winds of speed 20-30 kmph, gusting to 40 kmph during the morning or forenoon hours of Sunday. Hot and humid conditions are likely to persist,” an IMD official said. According to the IMD forecast, the maximum temperature is likely to be around 36-38 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
