T'gana Assembly adopts resolution condemning 'derogatory' remarks against Speaker

Hyderabad, Sep 8 (PTI) The Telangana Assembly on Tuesday adopted a resolution condemning the alleged derogatory remarks made against Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar by two BRS MLCs.

It also said that BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao should take responsibility for the unbecoming conduct of his party members and tender an unconditional apology to the Speaker.

The resolution, moved by Health Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha, resolved that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to Chairman of the Legislative Council for taking such action as he or the Council may deem appropriate against the two BRS MLCs Tata Madhusudhan and Naveen Kumar Reddy as they are members of the upper house.

"This House records its strongest condemnation and profound disapproval of the highly derogatory, insulting and unparliamentary utterances purported to have been made by Tata Madhusudhan and N Naveen Kumar Reddy, both the Members of the Telangana Legislative Council belonging to BRS Party, on September 7 within the Assembly precincts near Gate No 3 against the Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly," it said.

The resolution also condemned the indecent behaviour of the two BRS members by removing the T-shirts in public before women, which, it said, besides being highly objectionable, also amounts to outrage of the modesty of the women present at the place of the incident.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other members who spoke on the issue condemned the alleged derogatory remarks of Madhusudhan against the Speaker.

MLA Kadiam Srihari, who was in the Chair, announced adoption of the resolution by the House.
