Mamata claims central forces tried to search her car
A day after the TMC alleged that the Election Commission of India (ECI) had ordered ‘intrusive checks’ of vehicles of its leaders, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday claimed that central forces tried to search her car when she was travelling to Kolkata airport earlier in the day. Addressing a poll rally in Uttar Dinajpur district, Banerjee also accused the central ministers of “bringing in money” to the poll-bound State and “misusing their positions”. “Central forces tried to check my car when I was going to the Kolkata airport today. If you have the guts, you can check my car every day,” she said.

Modi leads mega roadshow in Tamil Nadu; predicts NDA win
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held a well-attended roadshow here in support of NDA candidates for the April 23 Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu and asserted that the AIADMK-led alliance “will win for sure,” while the ruling DMK will be shown the door in the hustings.
Joined by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran, his predecessor K Annamalai and local BJP leader and former Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan, Modi stood on top of a decorated vehicle and waved at and greeted a good number of people who had lined up on either side of the road here in Kanyakumari district.
