Spear Corps GOC lays stone for war memorial

Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps, visited Wokha in Nagaland on Thursday. During the visit, the General Officer laid the foundation stone of a War Memorial dedicated to the brave soldiers of the region. The solemn ceremony was organised by the Assam Rifles and was attended by Assam Rifles officials, Ex-Servicemen (ESM), civil dignitaries and residents.

The event commenced with a briefing on the proposed War Memorial, highlighting its significance in honouring the sacrifices of soldiers from the region. Later, the GOC unveiled the plaque marking the foundation of the War Memorial, followed by a prayer ceremony. Representatives from the ESM League also addressed the gathering, recalling the valour and sacrifices of the soldiers.
