Speaker reviews arrangements for upcoming Budget Session
Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Budget Session, emphasising the need for informed debate, measured conduct, and meaningful interventions that serve the public interest.
The session, scheduled from March 23 to 25, 2026, is expected to uphold the dignity of the House and set a high standard for deliberations. “Let's make this session a reflection of our finest parliamentary traditions,” he said, urging members to contribute constructively.
Speaker Vijender Gupta conducted a thorough review of the Assembly's readiness, stressing coordinated efforts across teams. Legislative, security, and technical teams are fully synchronised, and systems are in place. To enhance tech-enabled functioning, tablets are being provided to members for seamless access to documents and proceedings, ensuring efficient conduct of business.
To reinforce the Assembly's solemn and national character, the Speaker has directed that 'Vande Mataram' be performed live by an eminent singer at the start of each sitting, with a simultaneous display on screens in the House. This is intended to set a tone of national spirit and reflection.
Further strengthening this initiative, the full rendition of 'Vande Mataram' will be played live at the commencement of proceedings and displayed across screens within the House, creating a shared moment of national spirit and collective reflection at the outset of each sitting.
In a significant first-of-its-kind initiative, the Delhi Legislative Assembly will roll out 'Vidhan Sathi', an in-house AI-enabled chatbot designed to function as a dedicated legislative research assistant for members. The platform will provide structured, data-backed responses, assist in the analysis of Bills, Acts, and policy matters, and enable Members to engage with legislative business with greater clarity and depth.
