Uttar Pradesh emerging as defence manufacturing hub under PM Modi: CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has said that the state is rapidly emerging as a major defence industrial hub under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Speaking at an event in Hamirpur, the Chief Minister highlighted the progress made through the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, which has attracted significant investment and strengthened India's push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

Yogi stated that the defence corridor is creating new opportunities for industrial growth, employment generation, and technological advancement across several districts of the state. He noted that the initiative aligns with the Centre’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and aims to reduce dependence on imported defence equipment by promoting indigenous production.

The Chief Minister emphasized that districts such as Jhansi, Aligarh, Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra, and Chitrakoot have become key centres for defence-related investments and manufacturing activities. He said the corridor is helping transform Uttar Pradesh into an important contributor to India's defence ecosystem while boosting local economies.

Yogi also highlighted the government's efforts to improve infrastructure, connectivity, and the ease of doing business to attract investors. According to him, the growing presence of defence industries in the state reflects increasing confidence among domestic and international companies.

The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh's transformation into a defence manufacturing hub will not only strengthen national security but also contribute significantly to economic development and job creation in the coming years.
