Three militants arrested in Manipur

Three militants with affiliations to different proscribed outfits have been arrested from Manipur's Imphal West district, police said on Monday.

K Lanchenba Meitei (19) was arrested from Thiyam Leishangkhong while Greatson Lourembam (25) was arrested from Awang Leikinthabi Shantipur on Sunday, they said.

According to an official, both were members of the banned People's Liberation Army.

N Shanta Meitei, a self-styled private of the United National Liberation Front (Koireng), was apprehended from Loushangkhong on Sunday.

Security forces have also recovered one AK 56 rifle and four live rounds during an operation at Khozoul in Jiribam district on Saturday.
