Delhi: Burglary at DCP's Kaka Nagar home solved in 24 hours; all stolen items recovered

A burglary at the residence of a Delhi Police DCP in the upscale Kaka Nagar area was solved within 24 hours, with the police recovering all the stolen articles, including an iPhone, diamond ring, cash and important documents, official sources said on Monday.
The incident took place on August 11 when the officer left his residence around 5.30 am for duty. He returned around 8 am and found the house ransacked, following which the Tughlak Road police station was informed.
According to police sources, the officer had left through a door near the kitchen which could not be locked. On returning, he found several belongings missing from the house, they said.
The stolen items included his wife's iPhone, a diamond ring, around Rs 10,000 in cash, a purse and wallet containing debit and credit cards and several identity documents. The officer's wallet, containing his Delhi Police identity card, driving licence and CGHS card, was also taken, the source said.
A mobile phone belonging to a domestic worker employed at the house was also stolen.
A case was registered at the Tughlak Road police station, and a district crime team inspected the scene and photographed it.
Police examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area and conducted technical and local investigations, leading to the recovery of the stolen articles within 24 hours and the arrest of one, the source said, adding that the investigation into the matter is underway.
