TCS Pune Employee Suicide Case: Police probe workplace harassment allegations

Police have launched an investigation into the death of a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee in Pune after allegations of workplace harassment surfaced in a suicide note left by the deceased. Authorities said a case has been registered and further inquiries are underway.

The deceased, identified as 48-year-old Amit Brahme, allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Bhosari on June 2. Based on a complaint filed by his son, police have booked three individuals, including two TCS employees, under charges of abetment to suicide.

According to investigators, the suicide note alleged workplace humiliation, denial of favourable assignments, threats of negative performance feedback and pressure to resign. The note also mentioned a third individual, known to the victim, who allegedly filed false complaints against him.

Police officials said notices have been issued and statements are being recorded as part of the investigation. No arrests have been made so far.

TCS, in a statement, expressed condolences to the employee’s family and said it is examining the allegations while extending full cooperation to the investigating authorities. The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining a respectful and supportive workplace environment.
