Student dies, several injured after septic tank roof collapses at Rajasthan Madrasa

A student lost his life and several others were injured after the roof of a septic tank collapsed at a madrasa in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district on Saturday. The incident occurred when a group of students had gathered on top of the concrete structure, which suddenly gave way, causing them to fall into the tank.

Emergency responders and local residents rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to pull the children out.

The injured students were initially taken to a nearby health facility before those with serious injuries were referred to a hospital in Alwar for specialised treatment. Police and district administration officials reached the site soon after the incident and began an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse.

Preliminary findings suggest the septic tank roof may not have been able to bear the weight of the students standing on it.
