Rajasthan Wedding Horror: Man Shoots Wife, Dies by Suicide in Bharatpur

A shocking incident unfolded in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district wherere a man allegedly shot his wife during a wedding function before dying by suicide, police said.

The incident took place in Singhavali village under the Rupwas police station area when a family celebration was underway at the woman’s parental home.

According to police, the accused, Raghavendra (31), a resident of Agra, arrived at the venue around noon and called his wife, Radhika (28), into a room. The couple reportedly got into an argument, following which he locked the room and fired at her using a country-made pistol. He then turned the weapon on himself.

Family members rushed to the spot after hearing gunshots and broke open the door, finding both lying in a pool of blood. Raghavendra died on the spot, while Radhika was critically injured.

She was initially taken to a local hospital in Rupwas and later shifted to RBM Hospital in Bharatpur. Due to her serious condition, she has been referred to Jaipur for advanced treatment.

Police have recovered the weapon used in the incident and are recording statements from family members. The exact reason behind the dispute is yet to be determined.

Officials said the couple had been married for four years and have a three-year-old son. Further investigation is currently underway.
