Noida International Airport to Launch Commercial Flights from June 15, IndiGo to Operate First Flight

Noida International Airport will begin commercial flight operations from June 15, marking a major milestone for the long-awaited greenfield aviation project in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the airport operator, IndiGo will operate the first passenger flight, followed by services from Akasa Air and Air India Express shortly after launch.

The start of operations follows the airport’s inauguration by Narendra Modi and the approval of its Aerodrome Security Programme (ASP) by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. The clearance confirms that all safety, security, and operational protocols are in line with regulatory standards.

Developed to meet rising air travel demand in the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh, the airport features modern terminal infrastructure, efficient systems, and strong multimodal connectivity. Authorities say the facility is designed to deliver a seamless passenger experience while offering cost-effective operations for airlines.

Officials highlighted that the launch of commercial services is expected to boost regional connectivity and drive economic growth by supporting trade, tourism, and investment in the region.

The airport, with IATA code DXN, currently has one runway and a passenger terminal capable of handling 12 million passengers annually. Under its long-term expansion plan, capacity is expected to scale up to over 70 million passengers per year in phases.

Described as a world-class facility, the airport aims to combine global standards with local hospitality while also focusing on sustainability, including a commitment to achieving net-zero emissions through environmentally responsible operations.
