NIA attaches property of LeT Operative in Punjab in major Transnational Narco-Terror crackdown

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a property belonging to a suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative in Punjab as part of its ongoing probe into a transnational narco-terror network. The action is aimed at dismantling the financial and logistical infrastructure allegedly used to support terror activities through drug trafficking.

According to officials, the case is linked to an international conspiracy involving the smuggling of narcotics from across borders and the use of proceeds from the illegal trade to fund terrorist operations. Investigators believe such networks have been used to channel resources to Pakistan-based terror groups, including LeT.

The attachment of the property was carried out under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), which allows authorities to seize assets linked to terrorism and terror financing. The NIA said the move is part of its broader efforts to break the financial backbone of terror networks operating in India.

The agency has been aggressively pursuing investigations into cross-border terror and drug-smuggling syndicates, particularly those with links to Punjab and other northern states. Recent probes have revealed extensive international connections involving operatives, handlers, financiers, and smugglers operating across multiple countries.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and further action may follow as evidence is examined and additional links in the narco-terror network are uncovered.
