Mohali woman stabbed to death by ex-boyfriend inside office

A woman working at a private company in Punjab's Mohali was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend inside the office premises following a dispute, police said. The accused, identified as Harvinder Mann alias Harry, later attempted suicide and is currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.

According to investigators, the incident took place on Thursday evening at a private firm involved in packers and movers services. CCTV footage of the incident has been recovered and is being examined as part of the investigation.

Police said the accused allegedly attacked the woman, identified as Dimple, while she was at work. Employees present at the office immediately alerted authorities and rushed both individuals to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared the woman dead, while the accused was admitted for treatment.

Preliminary findings suggest the two had worked together for nearly three years and were known to each other. Police are investigating reports that they were previously in a relationship and are examining whether personal disputes may have led to the incident.

A forensic team visited the scene and collected evidence, while a case has been registered. Officials said the exact motive behind the crime is yet to be established and all aspects of the case are being investigated.

The families of both the victim and the accused, who are residents of Patiala district, have been informed. Police said the victim's post-mortem examination will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
