LG approves land transfer for lift at Rohini West Metro Station

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu has approved land transfer to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to install a lift at Rohini West Metro station, a move that will facilitate commuters along with patients and attendants visiting BSA Hospital in the area.
In addition to this, accelerating the National Capital’s clean energy infrastructure, the LG has also approved the allotment of Gram Sabha land measuring 9 bighas in Issapur Village, South-West District, for the setting up of a 66KV/11KV solar pooling substation. The land belonging to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has been allotted to the power department, Delhi government, free of cost on a lease basis for a fixed tenure of 99 years.
An earlier proposal regarding this was rejected by the Land and Building department of the Delhi Government on policy grounds, officials said.
The Gram Sabha land measuring 9 bighas in Issapur Village of the South-West district for setting up a 66KV/11KV solar pooling substation will accelerate Delhi’s clean energy push. The land belonging to DDA has been allotted to the Power Department, free of cost on a lease basis for a fixed tenure of 99 years, they said.
Power discom BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BRPL), which manages electricity distribution across South, West, and South-West Delhi, has reported a substantial surge in solar connection applications within the agricultural belts near Issapur-Dhansa village, they said.
The ground-mounted solar installations are being deployed on private agricultural land under the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (Net-Metering for Renewable Energy) Regulation, 2014.
The existing 11 kV local network cannot safely evacuate or absorb the heavy volume of renewable power generated by these localised agricultural units, and the new solar pooling grid substation will serve for the transmission of solar energy back into the primary city grid, they added.
