11-Year-old girl injured in Bahrain as Drone debris falls after Iranian attack

An 11-year-old girl was injured and several homes and vehicles were damaged in Bahrain after debris from intercepted drones fell into residential areas following an Iranian attack, authorities said on Thursday.
According to Bahrain’s Interior Ministry, the girl sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment at the scene. The incident occurred after Bahraini air defence systems intercepted drones amid heightened regional tensions.
The falling debris caused damage to residential properties and vehicles in Hamad Town and parts of Manama. Some vehicles reportedly caught fire as a result of the impact.
Authorities had activated warning sirens across the kingdom earlier in the day after issuing a security alert. Residents were advised to remain calm, follow official safety instructions and move to designated safe locations while security agencies monitored the evolving situation.
Initial assessments indicated no casualties or major damage. However, a later update from the Interior Ministry confirmed limited injuries and property damage linked to debris from intercepted aerial threats.
The incident comes amid escalating military tensions in the Gulf region following exchanges between Iran and the United States. Bahrain, which hosts the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, has remained on high alert due to concerns over missile and drone activity linked to the broader regional conflict.
Security agencies continue to assess the extent of the damage and monitor developments as regional governments strengthen defence measures and issue public safety advisories.
The latest escalation has intensified concerns over civilian safety across the Gulf, with several countries activating air defence systems and emergency response protocols amid growing uncertainty in the region.
