Iran accuses UAE of being ‘Active Partner’ in Israel-Iran conflict

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the United Arab Emirates of playing an “active role” in the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran, escalating tensions amid the wider West Asia crisis.

Speaking at the BRICS summit in New Delhi, Araghchi alleged that the UAE was directly involved in actions against Iran and described it as an “active partner in this aggression.”

“The UAE is an active partner in this aggression, and there is no doubt about it,” Araghchi said, adding that there were indications of UAE involvement in attacks against Iran.

He also referred to reports of a “secret meeting” between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a claim that has been denied by Abu Dhabi.

The remarks come amid rising geopolitical tensions in the region, with Iran, Israel, and the United States increasingly locked in a volatile confrontation that has also raised concerns over maritime security and energy routes in the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, discussions at the BRICS summit in New Delhi also highlighted broader regional instability, with global leaders stressing the importance of keeping vital shipping lanes open.

The White House has separately stated that U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to ensure the free flow of global energy supplies.

The ongoing conflict has already impacted global oil markets and raised fears of further escalation in the region.
