IP University launches seven new paramedical courses

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has introduced seven new paramedical programmes for the 2026 academic session and started the online application process for admissions.
The university announced that the newly launched courses include undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes in clinical psychology, emergency medical services, epidemiology, speech language pathology and optometry. Officials said the move is aimed at expanding professional healthcare education.
University has opened admissions for BSc Clinical Psychology, Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical and Trauma Technology, Epidemic Intelligence Service or Master in Applied Epidemiology, MA in Clinical Psychology, Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology, MSc in Speech Language Pathology and Bachelor of Optometry.
According to the university, online application forms for all seven programmes are now available on its official admission portals. Interested candidates can apply through the university websites before the last date of May 31, 2026. University officials said applicants will have to pay an application fee of Rs 2,500 for each course during the registration process.
The introduction of the new programmes comes at a time when demand for trained healthcare and mental health professionals is rising across the country. The university said the courses have been designed to prepare students for specialised careers in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, emergency response systems, public health institutions and clinical settings.
Among the newly introduced courses, B.Sc. Clinical Psychology (Honours) and MA Clinical Psychology are expected to focus on mental health assessment, counselling and psychological intervention. The Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology aims to train professionals who can work with individuals facing psychological and developmental challenges.
The Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical and Trauma Technology programme has been introduced to prepare students for emergency healthcare services and trauma response. The course is expected to train students in handling critical medical situations, ambulance care and emergency support systems.
The university has also introduced the Epidemic Intelligence Service or Master in Applied Epidemiology programme amid increasing focus on disease surveillance and public health management after recent global health crises. The course is expected to train students in outbreak investigation, epidemiological research and disease monitoring.
Another new addition is the M.Sc. Speech Language Pathology programme, which will focus on diagnosing and treating speech, language and communication disorders. The Bachelor of Optometry course will train students in vision care, eye testing and optical health services.
University authorities advised students interested in the new programmes to regularly check the official websites for admission updates, eligibility details and counselling schedules.
Officials said the decision to expand paramedical education reflects the growing importance of allied healthcare services in the medical sector. They added that trained professionals in emergency care, rehabilitation, epidemiology and mental health are increasingly required in both Government and private healthcare institutions.
The university has urged aspiring candidates to complete the online registration process before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues. Admissions for the new programmes will be conducted as per university norms and eligibility conditions.
