ED raids Karnataka PWD minister Satish Jarkiholi, MP daughter

The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday searched Karnataka PWD minister Satish Jarkiholi, his MP daughter Priyanka Jarkiholi and some others as part of an investigation, officials said.

They said about 18 premises in the state are being searched, including those belonging to the 64-year-old minister in the Dollars Colony area of the city, his MP daughter Priyanka Jarkiholi and brother-in-law Y D Manjunath in Belagavi.

A contingent of the CRPF provided security to the search teams.

Priyanka, 29, represents the Chikkodi Lok Sabha seat.

There was no immediate comment from Jarkiholis or the Congress party on the ED action.

Officials added that this was a fresh investigation, reportedly under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), and was not linked to an ongoing money laundering case which involved Manjunath, an excise officer.
