Dharmendra Pradhan resigns amid student protest

Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned from his position as Union Education Minister following a massive student protest in New Delhi over exam irregularities. Submitting his resignation to PM Modi, he wrote "I hold deep respect for the aspirations, sentiments, and rightful expectations of the youth of this country. Realising the dreams of India's young generation has been the moral resolve of our political and social life. I express my gratitude to Hon'ble Prime Minister for the opportunity given to me to serve the nation under his visionary leadership."

Reacting to the news of Pradhan’s resignation, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said, “We have done it. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned.”

Pradhan's resignation, just hours before the third round of talks between the CJP and the government is scheduled, comes as a massive victory for the student movement led by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)  which had been demanding his removal since NEET paper leak and other NTA exam irregularities. 

The talks between the CJP and the government were in a deadlock over the fulfillment of this demand.

In the second round of talks with Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka submitted a letter outlining the protesters’ key demands. The CJP called for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, Rs 1 crore ex gratia to families who lost their young ones following the paper leak, no legal action against protesters and release of Sonam Wangchuk. The group also demanded a public apology from the government and Delhi Police over alleged violence during the July 20 Parliament march, warning that the movement could grow bigger if the demands are not accepted.

The Center had assured the CJP of all the demands during the Friday, but had remained silent on the resignation.
