NSA Ajit Doval says No double standards on terrorism at Moscow security forum

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval asserted that there can be “no double standards” in the global fight against terrorism while addressing the International Security Forum in Moscow.

Doval participated in the first International Security Forum and the 14th Meeting of High Representatives for Security Matters hosted by Russian official Sergei Shoigu on May 28.

The forum focused on “Challenges and Threats to International Security in the context of the Emergence of the Multipolar World.”

Addressing delegates, Doval said responsible nations must take a clear stand on terrorism and decide whether they support sponsors of terror or oppose them through decisive action.

“There cannot be double standards in the fight against terrorism,” the NSA said, stressing the importance of a united global response against terror threats.

Doval also highlighted the need for urgent reforms in international institutions created after World War II, saying they must become more effective in tackling present-day security challenges.

He said global decision-making bodies should provide greater representation to countries from the Global South and include their perspectives more effectively.

Referring to the ongoing tensions in West Asia, Doval underlined the importance of ensuring uninterrupted trade movement through critical maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.

The NSA is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Moscow forum on May 28 and 29.
