Air Chief Marshal AP Singh receives Guard of Honour in Sri Lanka, pays tribute to IPKF Martyrs

Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh received a ceremonial guard of honour during his official visit to Sri Lanka on Tuesday. The visit is aimed at strengthening defence and military cooperation between India and Sri Lanka.

During the visit, Air Chief Marshal Singh paid tribute to the martyrs of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF), honouring soldiers who lost their lives during operations in Sri Lanka. The gesture highlighted India’s respect for the sacrifices made by its armed forces personnel.

Senior Sri Lankan military officials welcomed the IAF chief and held discussions focused on enhancing bilateral defence ties, regional security cooperation, and military exchanges between the two countries.

The visit is expected to further deepen strategic and defence relations between India and Sri Lanka amid growing cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

India and Sri Lanka have continued to expand collaboration in defence training, maritime security, and joint military engagements in recent years.
