AAP to join CJP's October 10 protest in Delhi, says Sanjay Singh

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Friday said party members would participate in the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest in Delhi on October 10, clarifying that the demonstration was being organised by the youth-led social movement and not by the AAP.

Speaking to reporters in Sikandarpur after attending the thirteenth-day ritual of senior Samajwadi Party leader Ram Govind Chaudhary, Singh said the protest was aimed at protecting democracy.

"The CJP protest is to save democracy. We also participated in the protest on October 2," he said.

Singh said the nationwide agitation would demand an end to alleged vote theft, scrapping of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, cancellation of state elections allegedly conducted through irregularities, the Chief Justice of India's involvement in the selection of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), and the use of ballot papers for elections across the country.

Clarifying AAP's role, Singh said the Delhi demonstration would be organised by the CJP, with several political parties expected to take part.

"It is not our protest; it is the CJP's protest. All parties had participated last time as well, including the Samajwadi Party, Left parties, the Biju Janata Dal and us. Everyone will participate in the CJP protest," he said.

Asked about the agitation against CEC Gyanesh Kumar and a proposed meeting of INDIA bloc leaders with President Droupadi Murmu, Singh said everyone had the right to protest in their own way.
