Car set ablaze outside Grill cottage in Hyderabad after a fight over delayed Biryani

In a bizarre incident, hotel staff in Hyderabad allegedly set a customer's car on fire following a dispute over a biryani order.
The incident occurred Thursday morning at Grills Cottage hotel in Hastinapur, Hyderabad, when a customer and his friends fought with hotel staff over a delayed biryani order.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Vansthalipuram Sub-Inspector (SI) Anil Reddy said the case was reported early Thursday morning by a dairy farm businessman named Thummati Mahender Yadav, a native of Ibrahimpatnam in Ranga Reddy district, that his car was set on fire by hotel staff.
The SI said, "Mahender Yadav with five friends visited Grills Cottage hotel in Hastinapur, Hyderabad, to eat biryani on Wednesday night. When the biryani did not arrive despite a long wait, the Yadav and his friends reportedly argued with the hotel management. The management then asked them to come downstairs to talk. Once they came downstairs, the owner and some others allegedly attacked the group with sticks."
The police rushed to the spot after someone called the 100 helpline and stopped the fight. Seeing the police, Yadav and his friends left the car and fled from the location.
Later, on Thursday early morning (around 4 am), Yadav went to the hotel to get his car, however, he was shocked to see his car gutted by fire.
The complainant alleged that hotel employee Sai Reddy set the car on fire by pouring petrol on it, out of anger over his partner having been beaten up, SI added.
Police registered a case against hotel worker Sai Reddy and are investigating.
