7-Year-old girl found dead at under-construction mall in Ghaziabad; Suspects detained

The body of a seven-year-old girl was recovered from an under-construction mall in the Raj Nagar Extension area of Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, prompting a police investigation and the detention of several suspects.

According to police, the Nandgram Police Station received information around 1 am on Saturday about the child's body being found inside the under-construction building.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ziauddin Ahmad said police personnel immediately reached the spot, while senior officers conducted an inspection of the crime scene.

A forensic team was also deployed to collect evidence as part of the investigation.

Police said a case is being registered under relevant sections of the law based on a complaint filed by the victim's family.

Authorities have detained a few suspects for questioning and are investigating the case from all possible angles. The motive behind the incident and the exact circumstances leading to the girl's death are yet to be ascertained.
