17-year-old National Kabaddi Player murdered over Rs 3,600 dispute in Meerut

A shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut has come to light where a 17-year-old national-level kabaddi player was allegedly murdered over a dispute of just Rs 3,600. The victim, identified as Anushka Pal, had been missing for over six weeks before her body was recovered from a drain in the Kankerkhera area.

According to police, the main accused in the case is a fast-food vendor who operated near the victim’s residence. Investigators said the dispute began over unpaid dues of around Rs 3,600, which escalated into a fatal confrontation. The accused allegedly attacked the teenager with a brick and later dumped her body in a drain to destroy evidence.

The victim’s family had been searching for her since mid-April and had filed a missing complaint after initial efforts failed to trace her. Police later used technical surveillance and call records to track down the accused, who was eventually arrested after going into hiding in the Chandigarh region.

Authorities have confirmed that the accused has allegedly confessed during interrogation, and further legal proceedings are underway. The case has triggered widespread outrage, highlighting concerns over rising violent crimes and the vulnerability of young athletes.
