Several former AIADMK MLAs and Cadres join TVK in Mahabalipuram

Tamil Nadu's political landscape witnessed a major development as several former AIADMK ministers, ex-MLAs, and party cadres formally joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) at an event held in Mahabalipuram on Thursday.
The mass induction is being seen as a significant boost for the ruling party led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, as it continues to expand its organisational base across the state.
Among those joining TVK were several senior AIADMK leaders, including former ministers and legislators who recently resigned from the party. The event also witnessed the participation of hundreds of district-level functionaries and grassroots workers, highlighting a broader shift in political loyalties ahead of future electoral contests.
The latest defections come amid internal challenges within the AIADMK following recent electoral setbacks.
Political observers believe the move strengthens TVK's organisational network while adding experienced leaders to its ranks. Since its formation, the party has attracted several prominent politicians from rival parties, reflecting its growing influence in Tamil Nadu politics.
