Security guard beaten to death by three juveniles at Rajasthan observation home

A 63-year-old security guard was allegedly beaten to death by three juveniles at a government observation and juvenile home in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district on Wednesday, police said.
The victim, identified as Sahab Ram, suffered fatal head injuries after the juveniles allegedly attacked him from behind with a wooden plank inside the facility.
According to police, the three juveniles were detained in connection with two murder cases and one case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Superintendent of Police Harishankar said the incident occurred while preparations were underway for Independence Day celebrations at the juvenile home. Sahab Ram was on his way to collect tools from another security guard to repair an air cooler when he was allegedly attacked.
He collapsed at the scene and died from his injuries, police said.
The motive behind the attack is yet to be established. Police have begun questioning the three juveniles, while a forensic team has collected evidence from the scene.
District Collector Amit Yadav, Additional District Collector Subhash Kumar and other senior officials visited the juvenile home following the incident.
Police are also examining CCTV footage to establish the sequence of events and determine whether anyone else was involved.
