SC Collegium recommends Liz Mathew, Preeta Aravindan as Kerala HC judges

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of two lawyers as judges of the Kerala High Court. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on April 14. Liz Mathew is practising in the Supreme Court and was Kerala’s standing counsel. Preeta Aravindan is practising in the Kerala High Court. The Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, also approved a proposal for the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Karnataka High Court. The names of these judicial officers are Rajeshwari Narayana Hegde, Kedambadi Ganesh Shanthi, and Mahadevappa Brungesh.
In another decision, the Collegium gave its nod to the appointment of four additional judges as permanent judges of the Telangana High Court.
They justices Yara Renuka, Nandikonda Narsing Rao, E Tirumala Devi, and BR Madhusudhan Rao. The Collegium further approved a proposal for the appointment of Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande, additional judge, as a permanent judge of the Bombay High Court.
