SAS promotes Indian Knowledge Systems in school
The Sri Aurobindo Society (SAS) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in school education at the 2nd International Conference on IKS in School Education, held virtually. The two-day event reached nearly seven lakh teachers nationwide, focusing on practical classroom integration of IKS in line with NEP 2020. Addressing the conference, Acharya Balkrishna emphasised that Indian Knowledge Systems are “scientifically documented and validated,” offering valuable insights for modern education. Sambhrant Sharma, Executive Board Member of the Society, said the initiative seeks to nurture “rooted and future-ready” learners and teachers. The conference featured discussions on science, mathematics, arts, inclusive education, experiential learning and technology integration. It was organised in collaboration with Maharishi International University, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, Bhartiya Shiksha Board and Future Icons.
