Sangli Apartment certified as Anupam Colony

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Monday certified Sangli Apartments in Lutyens’ area as an ‘Anupam Colony’, becoming the eighth residential area to receive the recognition under the civic body’s zero-waste and sustainability initiative.
NDMC Chairperson Keshav Chandra unveiled the plaque at the residential complex located on Copernicus Marg and said the colony had achieved the distinction through active participation of residents in waste segregation and sustainable waste management practices.
“Residents have adopted a system of segregating waste into multiple categories, including dry waste, wet waste, sanitary waste, horticulture waste and e-waste, helping reduce waste at source and improve recycling and recovery efforts,” Chandra said in a statement.
According to an official statement, Sangli Apartments has implemented 100 per cent segregation of waste at source, on-site composting of wet and horticulture waste, a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) for dry waste management, and a Reduce-Reuse-Recycle (RRR) centre along with a “Neki Ki Diwar” initiative to encourage reuse of items.
