Route diversion and parking plan issued for Durga Puja
To ensure smooth traffic management and public safety during the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, the Deoghar district administration has announced an elaborate route diversion and parking plan for the urban area. The measures have been issued under the directives of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Naman Priyesh Lakra.
According to the order, restrictions will apply to buses, auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, and other small vehicles at key entry points in the city. Major diversions include Barmasia Chowk, where vehicles from Satsang will be redirected via Sarkari Bhawan and the Railway Overbridge towards Deoghar Station. At Jatahi, entry from Krishnapuri has been restricted, with vehicles diverted to the overfly bridge. Similarly, all vehicles coming from Gidhni will be rerouted at the Railway Flyover Bridge towards Ranga Mod.
Strict entry prohibitions have been enforced at several locations, including Barmasia Chowk to Jatahi Mod, Bilasi Mod to Chakachak Mandir, Bajrangi Chowk to Ray & Company Mod, Belabagan Durgabari Mod to Kalibari, and Chakai Mod to Jasidih Bazaar Railway Station. The administration has also barred the movement of vehicles near major pandals such as Bilasi, Durgabari, and Kalibari, to prevent congestion.
For convenience, designated parking zones have been created near prominent puja venues. These include the Deoghar College and B.Ed. College campuses for Krishnapuri Puja Pandal, the old Forest Department campus for Bela Bagan Durgabari, and the railway station parking area via Hanuman Nagar for Jasidih Bazaar. Additional parking has been arranged at open grounds near hotels and club premises across the city.
Officials said these measures were necessary given the massive turnout expected during the festival. The administration has appealed to residents and visitors to cooperate with the traffic plan to ensure an orderly and safe celebration of Durga Puja 2025 in Deoghar.
