Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang member arrested

The Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested a notorious member of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang on Monday. The arrested person was wanted in multiple cases across four states and is a declared proclaimed offender in several matters. The accused, Vikas alias Vicky, a resident of Mahendergarh district in Haryana, was arrested by the NDR team of the Crime Branch, R.K. Puram, from Loni in Uttar Pradesh.
Police said he is involved in at least 18 criminal cases, including offences related to arms, robbery, extortion and kidnapping in Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime-IV) Pankaj Kumar stated that the arrest was part of Operation Gang Bust, which aims to track and apprehend absconding gang members involved in organised crime. “The accused is a key operative of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang and had been evading arrest despite being a proclaimed offender in several cases. His arrest is a significant breakthrough against the gang’s network,” he said.
Vikas was wanted in a 2025 Arms Act case registered at Chanakyapuri police station in Delhi. Police said he had fled after a night patrolling team intercepted a car with a temporary number plate on June 23, 2025. During the check, an illegal pistol was recovered from the vehicle, and two of his associates were arrested, while Vikas managed to escape.
Following his escape, he was declared absconding in the case. Proceedings were initiated under Section 84 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Police said he was also declared a proclaimed offender in five other cases in Delhi and Haryana.
Crime Branch officers said they used sustained manual efforts and technical surveillance to find him. Police officials got a specific tip-off about his whereabouts and tracked him to Loni, where he was arrested.
Police said Vikas has a long criminal history and deep links with organised gangs. During interrogation, he revealed that he first came in contact with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in 2021 while lodged in Jaipur jail. Over time, he became involved with gang members and began assisting them with logistics and shelter.
In 2023, he allegedly helped several members of the Rohit Godara and Lawrence Bishnoi gang by arranging a rented flat in Gurugram, where they had assembled to plan the murder of Kaushal Chaudhary, a rival gang leader.
Acting on intelligence, police arrested the gang members from the flat, but Vikas escaped at that time.
A reward of Rs 1 lakh was later announced by the Haryana STF for information leading to his arrest. He was arrested months later but was released and again went underground, police said.
