Reservation cannot be removed: RamDas Athawale

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Saturday said reservation is a “constitutional right” and described demands for its abolition as “unconstitutional”.

Addressing a press conference here, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said some people demanded an end to reservation, while others launched social media campaigns advocating its abolition.

“Some people agitating at Jantar Mantar demanded the abolition of reservation, while others ran social media campaigns suggesting the same. However, reservation cannot be removed because it is our constitutional right,” he said.
