Punjab tourist open fires in Kasol, local youth injured after hotel brawl

A violent clash between a group of tourists from Punjab and local youths in Himachal Pradesh’s popular tourist destination, Kasol, left one person injured after gunfire erupted at a hotel. The incident reportedly took place at Hotel Green Valley on Saturday evening when an argument between the two groups escalated into a physical confrontation.
During the altercation, one of the tourists allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired, injuring a local youth in the leg and triggering panic among residents and visitors.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the firing and detained four individuals from Punjab in connection with the case.
Authorities also recovered the weapon allegedly used in the incident and seized the vehicle linked to the accused. A fifth suspect is reportedly absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him.
Videos of the incident showing an armed tourist allegedly brandishing a pistol in public have gone viral on social media, raising concerns about safety and law and order in the tourist hub.
Police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the law and launched a detailed investigation into the sequence of events. The injured youth is currently undergoing treatment.
