POWERGRID gives Rs 12.25 crore medical equipment to HBCHRC

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has handed over State-of-the-art medical imaging systems worth approximately Rs 12.25 crores to the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCHRC), New Chandigarh, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The advanced equipment, comprising a 128-slice CT Scan system and a Bi-Plane Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) system, was formally handed over in the presence of senior officials from POWERGRID and HBCHRC.
These medical imaging systems are expected to transform the hospital’s clinical capabilities by enabling faster, high-precision imaging, early cancer detection, and support for complex minimally invasive procedures.
This initiative forms part of POWERGRID’s broader CSR commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and promoting inclusive social development across the country. In addition to healthcare, POWERGRID’s CSR efforts span education, skill development, environmental sustainability, rural infrastructure, and women empowerment, reflecting the organisation’s integrated approach to nation-building.
As of 31st December 2025, POWERGRID has commissioned and is operating 287 Sub-Stations and more than 1,81,894 ckm transmission lines and 5,93,016 MVA of transformation capacity.
With the adoption of the latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain an average transmission system availability of more than 99.84 per cent.
