Police to launch anti-drug campaign

Delhi Police will roll out a week-long anti-drug awareness campaign across the capital starting April 24, 2026, as part of a broader effort to curb drug abuse and promote a drug-free society. The campaign, titled “Nasha -Not Cool,” aims to target youth and communities through a mix of digital outreach and ground-level activities.
The initiative was announced on April 23, with the official launch of a campaign theme song at the Police Headquarters. The song, created in a rap format, focuses on the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourages young people to stay away from narcotics. It will be shared widely on social media platforms and screened in cinema halls across Delhi during the campaign period to ensure maximum reach.
Delhi Police said the campaign is aligned with the national policy of zero tolerance against drugs and supports the larger mission to eliminate substance abuse. The drive is being conducted under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Satish Golchha and under the guidance of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
Officials said the campaign will follow a multi-pronged approach. It will include social media engagement, radio broadcasts, and awareness drives at the community level. Expert-led podcasts will also be part of the initiative to provide deeper insights into the dangers of drug addiction. In addition, sports activities will be organised at de-addiction centres to promote healthy lifestyles and rehabilitation.
A key focus of the campaign will be school outreach. On the opening day, April 24, a pledge-taking ceremony against drug abuse will be held at 10 am in schools across Delhi. Students will be encouraged to take an active role in spreading awareness among their peers and within their communities.
