Police team up with C-DOT to boost tech-driven policing

Delhi Police has teamed up with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) to boost tech-driven policing. This partnership will bring in advanced solutions like the Facial Recognition System (FRS) to identify suspects and missing persons and SAMVAD, a unified communication platform for secure messaging and data sharing.
The Delhi Police-C-DOT partnership is bringing in some cool tech upgrades. The Intelligent Attendance System uses facial recognition to stop proxy attendance, boosting admin efficiency. Plus, the Cell Broadcast Solution will send geo-targeted alerts for traffic updates, emergencies, and public advisories, keeping citizens informed on the go.
The collaboration aims to leverage indigenous and secure telecom solutions developed by C-DOT to improve communication systems, surveillance, cybersecurity and emergency response mechanisms within the force.
According to a statement, the partnership will facilitate the deployment of advanced applications tailored for modern policing needs. Among the key technologies is a Facial Recognition System (FRS), which will assist in identifying suspects, missing persons, and repeat offenders by matching images with existing databases.
“A unified communication platform, SAMVAD, will enable secure messaging, audio and video calls, and data sharing among various police units, while SAMVAD Prime — a handset-based secure messaging system — will be used for sensitive communications among senior officers and operational teams,” read the statement.
C-DOT Meet and MCX are game-changers for Delhi Police. It will ensure secure video conferencing for briefings and training, plus low-latency communication for emergencies — they’re stepping up their response game!
The Trinetra Security Operations Centre, an AI-powered cybersecurity platform, will further strengthen the protection of Delhi Police’s IT infrastructure, including critical systems. Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha and C-DOT CEO Raj Kumar Upadhyay, along with senior officials, highlighted that the collaboration would enhance operational efficiency and help build a robust, technology-driven policing ecosystem in the national Capital.
