Police recovers stolen truck within hour of PCR call

Delhi Police recovered a stolen truck within one hour of receiving a PCR call. Police intercepted the vehicle more than 300 kilometres away in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, in a swift inter-State operation.
The truck was stolen from Kattar Market in Wazirpur Industrial Area on February 28. The caller informed police that the vehicle was fitted with a GPS and its live location was showing near Agra.
Additional Commissioner of Police (North-West) Bhisham Singh said the recovery reflects modern policing backed by technical expertise and seamless coordination between Delhi and Madhya Pradesh Police. He said the entire operation was completed within an hour despite the long distance covered by the vehicle.
According to police, a dedicated team from Police Post WPIA under Ashok Vihar police station was formed immediately after the call.
The team began rapid technical analysis based on GPS inputs. Officers calculated the vehicle’s speed and possible route using time and distance data. Based on real-time tracking, they identified the likely movement corridor of the truck.
Delhi Police quickly contacted the Control Room in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. Officials requested that all 112 Emergency Response Vehicles be alerted along the suspected route.
The first 112 PCR vehicle reached the anticipated interception point. However, by then the truck had already crossed that stretch. The Delhi Police team continued to monitor the GPS feed and recalculated the vehicle’s movement. An updated static location was immediately shared with the Morena Control Room. The revised information was passed to another 112 PCR vehicle deployed nearby.
Acting on the fresh input, the second 112 PCR vehicle located the stolen truck parked at a parking area in Morena. The vehicle was intercepted before it could move further.
Police said the truck had travelled more than 300 kilometres from Delhi during the short span. Despite the distance, the coordinated response ensured recovery within an hour of the initial PCR call.
The stolen truck has been recovered in the case. Further investigation is underway to identify those involved in the theft and to ascertain how the vehicle was moved out of Delhi so quickly.
Officials described the operation as an example of effective use of technology and strong coordination between state police forces.
