Police, iLive Connect join hands to combat cardiac disease

To raise awareness among Delhi Police personnel, iLive Connect partnered with Delhi Police to organise a Cardiac Health Awareness Camp on Saturday at the IT Park in Shastri Park.
The camp included heart health check-ups, awareness sessions on cardiac diseases, and discussions on preventive measures as well as modern technologies.
The event was attended by Joint CP Milind Mahadev, DCP (Metro & Railway) Bharat Reddy, and Dr Rahul Chandola-Founder of iLive Connect, Chairman of the Institute of Heart and Lung Diseases, and a senior cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon. More than 30 police personnel underwent health check-ups during the camp.
Addressing the gathering, Mahadev said that the simple and practical way in which Dr Chandola explained heart health was highly valuable. He emphasised that following these guidelines can significantly reduce heart risks.
“If we take care of our heart, it will take care of us. Maintaining balance in life is essential. Amid the daily rush, we must take out time for ourselves,” he added.
According to available data, 34,539 people died of heart attacks in Delhi in 2024, compared to 22,385 in 2023. The steadily rising numbers are a cause for concern. DCP Bharat Reddy also praised the initiative, calling it a positive step toward awareness.
Dr Rahul Chandola informed that this collaboration between the Delhi Police and iLive Connect is not limited to a single event, and more such programmes are planned in the future to ensure the well-being of those who protect the city.
While addressing the personnel, Dr Chandola highlighted key concerns: stressful work environments, lack of sleep, poor diet, and insufficient exercise-all of which negatively impact heart health. He advised at least 150 minutes of exercise per week.
During the programme, iLive Connect devices were also provided to several police personnel, including senior officers.
