Police bust LPG hoarding racket

Delhi Police busted an illegal LPG hoarding and black-marketing racket in southwest Delhi’s Mahipalpur area on Saturday. The police have also arrested three men and recovered 74 cylinders along with equipment used for illegal gas transfer.
The accused, Krishna (33), Dinesh Sahu (46), and Mithilesh (39), were allegedly running the operation for the past three years, supplying LPG cylinders without authorisation to local residents. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West) Amit Goel said the operation was carried out following specific intelligence inputs. “Acting on credible information, our team conducted a raid and unearthed illegal storage and black marketing of LPG cylinders. Such activities pose serious safety risks and will be dealt with strictly,” he said.
The raid was conducted on Saturday at a premise in Mahipalpur identified as K-845. A team from the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) reached the spot after receiving a tip-off about illegal LPG activities. During the search, police recovered 70 domestic LPG cylinders and four commercial cylinders. Out of these, 57 cylinders were filled, while the rest were either partially used or empty.
Officials also seized a Tata Ace Gold vehicle used for transporting cylinders, along with weighing machines and metal pipes used for transferring gas.
