Police bust LPG black marketing rackets

Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted two illegal LPG cylinder black marketing rackets operating in Mangolpuri and Jahangirpuri, arresting five accused and recovering 104 cylinders along with vehicles and equipment used for illegal refilling and sale.
The operation, based on specific intelligence inputs, exposed a large-scale network involved in hoarding and unauthorised refilling of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders. Police also seized four vehicles, two refilling machines, three digital weighing scales, and pipes fitted with regulators and nozzles used in the illegal activity.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch-IV) Pankaj Kumar said the action was part of sustained efforts to curb black marketing and ensure public safety. He said the crackdown prevented potential hazards in densely populated areas and disrupted illegal profiteering.
According to police, the first raid was conducted in Mangolpuri near a gas agency in T-Block. Three accused, identified as Santosh, Sachin Kumar, and Pramod Pal, were caught while illegally storing and refilling LPG cylinders. A total of 73 cylinders were recovered from the spot. The team also seized three vehicles used for transporting the cylinders, along with refilling equipment and weighing machines.
In a parallel operation, another team raided a location in Jahangirpuri near Mahendra Park. Two accused, Mahesh Pal and Kishan Yadav, were apprehended while unloading LPG cylinders from a modified cycle rickshaw into a shop.
