PM Modi condemns attacks in talks with Gulf leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held separate telephone conversations with the King of Bahrain, Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman, condemning the recent attacks on the two countries and terming them violations of their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had also spoken with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as part of India’s ongoing diplomatic engagement in response to the unfolding crisis.
During the discussions, Prime Minister Modi stressed that the swift restoration of peace and stability in West Asia is of utmost importance. He also expressed gratitude to both leaders for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community residing in their countries amid the ongoing tensions.
The Prime Minister’s comments signal a calibrated diplomatic approach — balancing concern over rising tensions with a call for restraint and engagement. As the situation continues to unfold, the Government is expected to remain in close coordination with international partners while focusing on the welfare of its citizens abroad.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said he had discussed the evolving regional situation with Prince Mohammed bin Salman and reiterated that India condemns the attacks on Saudi Arabia.
He noted that both sides agreed on the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and restore stability at the earliest, while also thanking the Saudi leadership for its continued support to the Indian diaspora during challenging times.
