Pijush Hazarika lays stone for Commissioner Office

Minister Pijush Hazarika on Tuesday attended the Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone–laying ceremony for the Ramkrishna Nagar Co-District Commissioner Office Building in Sribhumi district. Following the ceremony, which was attended by a host of dignitaries and local residents, Minister Hazarika addressed a public meeting where he affirmed the Assam Government’s unwavering commitment to inclusive growth.
Addressing the gathering, Hazarika lauded the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, stating that the creation of co-districts across Assam is a “landmark initiative aimed at ensuring faster, more transparent and people-centric governance.” He emphasised that the proposed Co-District Commissioner Office at Ramkrishna Nagar would “usher in a new era of development and significantly improve the delivery of public services in the region.”
During the public meeting, the Minister detailed the major developmental initiatives launched by the State Government over the last four and a half years. He specifically highli-ghted several key welfare schemes, including Orunudoi, Nijut Moina and the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Scheme, which he said have successfully empowered women and strengthened livelihoods across the State.
Hazarika also provided an update on the Government’s employment drive, informing the crowd that 1.5 lakh Government jobs have been provided purely on merit over the last 4.5 years. He described this as a “transformative shift towards transparency, accountability and youth empowerment,” asserting that these initiatives have fundamentally changed the development and governance landscape of Assam. The programme saw the attendance of Ministers Krishnendu Paul and Kaushik Rai, alongside MLAs Bijoy Malakar, Dipayan Chakraborty, and Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, among other dignitaries, officials and local residents.
