Parvesh Verma inaugurates drainage, road, water projects in West Delhi

Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma on Wednesday inaugurated a series of infrastructure projects in Palam and Nilothi to improve drainage, road connectivity, and water supply in key residential areas.
The projects include strengthening the Palam Link Drain embankments, constructing four box-culvert bridges in Palam, and upgrading connectivity near Nilothi. Officials said the works are designed to address long-standing civic issues such as waterlogging, traffic congestion, and gaps in basic services.
A major component of the initiative is an Rs 8 crore project by the Delhi Jal Board to lay new water and sewer lines in Mahavir Enclave, Ramphal Chowk, Madhu Vihar, and Sadh Nagar. These areas have faced persistent problems related to water supply and sanitation.
Speaking at the inauguration, Verma said the focus of the government is on solving everyday problems faced by residents. “Development is about addressing real issues on the ground. These projects will bring visible improvement in daily life,” he said. He added that better drainage systems will help reduce flooding during the monsoon, while improved road infrastructure will ease movement in congested areas.
“These works will directly benefit thousands of families by improving basic services and connectivity,” he said.
