Pakistani intruder held in Uri

The Indian Army on Sunday apprehended a 22-year-old Pakistani intruder while he was crossing the Line of Control in the Uri Sector. In a separate operation, the Indian army also foiled an exfiltration attempt in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district by apprehending two residents of Sopore along with their guide during a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Meanwhile, ‘Operation Sheruwali’ entered its ninth consecutive day on Sunday as security forces continued their massive anti-terrorist operation in the dense forests of Dori Mal in Rajouri’s Gambhir Moghla area. A multi-layered security cordon has been laid, with heavy deployment of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG), CRPF, and other security agencies to prevent the trapped group of terrorists from fleeing the area.
In a post on X, Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said that a PoJK intruder was also apprehended after being intercepted while crossing the Line of Control in the Uri sector.
The intruder has been identified as Zeeshan Mir. According to the Army, alert troops challenged the intruder and apprehended him without causing harm.
“A PoJK intruder has been apprehended, who was intercepted by alert Chinar Warriors while crossing the Line of Control in Uri Sector. The vigilant troops maintained restraint while challenging the intruder and surgically apprehended the individual. The intruder has been handed over to Jammu and Kashmir Police for further legal proceedings,” the Army said.
In another operation, the Army said two individuals from Sopore were apprehended by troops while allegedly attempting to exfiltrate through the Uri sector along with their accomplice guide.
