Noida Authority provides medical insurance coverage to 4,800 workers

The Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority has granted approval for medical insurance coverage for approximately 4,800 workers provided to the Authority, to be provided through the State Bank of India General Insurance Company.
This historic decision-to extend medical facilities to personnel supplied through labour contractors-was approved by the Board of Directors during the 215th Board Meeting of the Noida Authority, held on October 26, 2024.
Under this scheme, up to five dependents of each supplied worker will be eligible to avail medical facilities with an annual coverage limit of `5 lakh. A premium of
`10,000 per annum per worker will be paid to the State Bank of India General Insurance Company through the labour supply agency.
Currently, approximately 4,800 personnel supplied through labour contractors are employed at the Noida Authority. Following the revision of the eligibility ceiling for ESIC/medical facilities by the ESIC Department to `21,000, all such personnel at the Noida Authority had fallen outside the scope of ESIC/medical coverage; consequently, these workers had been persistently demanding the provision of medical facilities.
