NIA arrests two more accused in 2024 ambush on ex-Manipur CM convoy

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two more persons in connection with the 2024 armed ambush on the convoy of then chief minister of Manipur N Biren Singh, officials said on Tuesday.

The accused have been identified as Jangminlun Singson alias Franky (44), a resident of Bethel, Churachandpur, and Thangjoel Haokip alias Thangboi (21), a resident of Gamphajang Tuibong, Churachandpur, they said.

The incident occurred on June 10, 2024, when unknown armed miscreants ambushed the then CM’s convoy on NH-37 near K Sinam village in Kangpokpi district of Manipur.
