New arrest in Delhi blast case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested an aide of the Delhi blast accused, Dr Umar Nabi. Identified as Soyab of Dhauj in Faridabad, this is the seventh suspect arrested by the investigating agency in the case.
Sources claim that Soyab allegedly gave refuge to Umar before the attack and facilitated his movements. He will be investigated with the earlier detained suspects, sources added, as investigators will try to uncover the operational structure of the White Collar module, which helped the bomber.
Till now, the NIA has arrested six other alleged accused who were accomplices of Umar. They are Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag, Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian, Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, who provided technical support to Umar.
According to the NIA, they had all played a key role in the terror attack that killed several people and left many injured, as alleged by the NIA.
