PM Modi congratulates Peter Magyar on Hungary polls win
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Peter Magyar on his resounding victory in the parliamentary elections in Hungary and said he was looking forward to working closely with him to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation and advance the vital India-EU Strategic Partnership. Peter Magyar, leader of the centre-right Opposition Tisza party, defeated incumbent Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the election on Sunday. “Heartiest congratulations to Peter Magyar and the Tisza Party on your resounding election victory,” Modi said in a social media post. The PM said India and Hungary are bound by a deep-rooted friendship, shared values and enduring mutual respect.

Kharge calls Opposition meet on women’s quota on April 15
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said the Congress will convene a meeting of all the Opposition parties on April 15 to deliberate on the implementation of the Women’s Reservation law, accusing the Centre of not being prepared to hold a comprehensive consultation with all stakeholders. Addressing reporters, he maintained that while the party fully supports the legislation, there is a need for wide discussions on its implementation, given its broader national implications. “The Centre has called a meeting. I have already replied to the letter written either by Kiren Rijiju or even the Prime Minister to me,” Kharge said.
